Summer Sunday Services

July 12, 10am - Rev. Cameron Partridge and Rev. Megan Lloyd Joiner (Lloyd Jones Family Reunion)

July 19, 10am: “We The People” - Rev. Meg Riley, Minneapolis, MN

The Twin Cities were recently recognized by the Kennedy Foundation for a "Profiles in Courage" award for the way the people united to resist a violent invasion by a paramilitary, government funded, ICE.  What is it about our history, in Minnesota and in Wisconsin, that gives us the strength to stand up for each other?  What can others learn from what happened (and is still happening) in the Twin Cities to keep each other safe?

July 26, 10am : “A House Not Made with Human Hands”- Rev. Kelly Weisman Asprooth-Jackson, co-minister, Unitarian Society of Madison

This service will focus on beauty as a religious and spiritual value: the idea that beauty has meaning unto itself, rather than being only a means to an end of higher ideals. In particular, we'll examine this theme through the work of Jenkin Lloyd Jones and Frank Lloyd Wright, as well as that of William Channing Gannett, who served as an inspirational bridge between that uncle and nephew pair.

August 2, 10am - Rev. Andy Karlson, manager, Spiritual Care Services, UW Health

August 9, 10am: “The Organic Commandment” - Rev. Jessica Clay, lead minister, White Bear Unitarian Universalist Church, Mahtomedi, MN

In the midst of the outbreak of World War I Frank Lloyd Wright crafted his organic commandment, imploring us to live in harmony with nature and each other. We will explore how these invitations are still relevant in the world of today.
